<7d56dcb3> <@U07MMSG8M> yeah. same in russia. the simple fact is that spies aren’t protected by the geneva convention. but let’s take a look at how snowden, assange, and manning are currently being mistreated. a summary execution would just result in them becoming martyrs (and assange’s dead man switch going off lol). but this is something the west just would not tolerate, unlike in russia or china. but… maybe it’s cuz we don’t really see snowden, assange, or manning as real “traitors” per se… there have been other legit spies that were caught though that got some pretty hefty sentences…
