CNN is owned by Turner broadcasting, but Turner broadcasting was acquired by a company called Time Warner and it’s called WarrenMedia. But who owns WarnerMedia?
WarnerMedia is owned by AT&T.
All these smaller companies get gobbled up by bigger companies which get gobbled up by even bigger companies etc. and before you know it, almost all of the media is controlled by a handful of companies. In television the vast majority of broadcast and basic cable networks (over 100 in all) are controlled by 8 corporations. (ie Walt Disney Co, National Amusements, Comcast, AT&T to name a few)
