(*3bd42332*):: Highly refined seeds oils were originally created from waste for use as industrial lubricants, before they decided to add them to literally all of our food to maximize profit while slowly killing everyone.
Modern industrial processes use high temperatures and chemicals to refine seeds into oil, which uses far more seeds than a human could ever consume and produces oil that contains unnaturally high amounts of substances like Omega 6, PUFA, and Linoleic acid. Many studies have shown that excessive consumption of these substances cause serious damage to human health, including causing inflammation (which is the leading cause of most disease).
To make things worse, the majority of oil products produced for human consumption, including all kinds of plant oils (INCLUDING NON-SEED OILS) are mixed with other seed oils. It’s not uncommon for 4-8 different oils that are produced in different countries to be mixed together, and some them are often rancid due to a combination of industrial processing, storage and global shipping conditions.
The Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio is a key indicator of the level of harm caused by oils, so it’s worth paying attention to which oils are low in Saturated fats, while also being high in Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats.
Examples of toxic seed oils:
Vegetable oil
Canola oil
Soybean oil
Corn oil
Peanut oil
Sunflower oil
Grapeseed oil
Safflower oil
Cottonseed oil
Sesame oil
Most “Olive” oils (actually mixed seed oils)
Rice bran
Margarine
Examples of ingredients that contain hidden seed oils:
Most Vitamin E (even pills, most are just canola or soybean oil)
Vitamin A Palmitate (palmitic acid derived from soy oil)
Soy / Sunflower Lecithin (different consistency of seed oil fats, sometimes soy, sometimes canola, sunflower, or others)
Tocopherols, Mixed Tocopherols (actually just a seed oil that is supposed to contain vitamin E: soybean, canola, etc)
Mono- and Diglycerides
Polyglycerol / Fatty Acid Esters
Examples of healthy oils:
Must not say “refined” or “processed” on the packaging.
Must be sourced from only 1 country. (Will say something like “Product of Germany” on the label. If it’s a blend from 3-6 different countries, it’s more likely to be rancid and mixed with seed oils.)
Cold-pressed extra virgin Olive oil (authentic brands sourced from only 1 country)
Cold-pressed extra virgin Avocado oil (authentic brands sourced from only 1 country)
Cold-pressed extra virgin Coconut oil
Cold-pressed Palm oil (RED is the healthiest kind)
Grass-fed Butter
Grass-fed Ghee
Grass-fed / Grass-finished Beef Tallow
Here’s a list of some certified olive oils.
Side note on the harm caused by Peanuts:
Peanuts are not actually nuts, and are extremely harmful to your health, so they should be avoided in all forms. Peanuts are legumes like Soy and other grains, which contain high quantities of harmful Lectins. Peanuts also contain very high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA, Omega 6), just like seed oils.
Lectins are anti-nutrients, and the primitive pest-resisting strategy of plants, which makes them basically impossible to digest. They bind to sugars in your cells, which leads to an immune response and inflammation (the leading cause of most disease). Lectins have also been shown to mimic insulin behaviors in the human body.
Peanuts are highly susceptible to contaminants too. One of the worst common toxins associated with even organic peanuts is a mold that produces aflatoxin, which is a known carcinogen associated with cancer, and has also been shown to stunt growth in children. They cause liver congestion, impeding its important functions, including detoxing and fat-burning.
