PG&amp;E off the rails?
The podcast covers a lot of issues with our grids. Across the nation, our infrastructure is failing. Government has great systems to accomplish new construction however lack the systems for maintenance. Politicians then use these maintenance issues as their talking points, but never implement needed updates. Run it to failure.
All in all the podcast pushes for nationalizing pg&amp;e, however they don’t understand that these systems are already regulated…
FERC, NERC, WECC, NESC
And even under a new executives, their is a high chance they will come from a for profit – not prioritize the needed updates. Instead they will just shift liability and outsource design and maintenance. If it’s cheaper to pay a fine the do maintenance the will choose the fine.
