The standard to evict Paxton did not have to be whether he broke the law. Senators were called to vote on whether, based on the conduct outlined, Paxton was fit to continue in high public office. They failed the test.

Lol these people are crying that on one hand they can’t prove he broke any laws but he should be kicked from office anyway because it has the appearance of corruption, then on the other hand say it was all politics that kept him in…. well it’s all politics why you want him removed in the first place if you have no evidence, dumb shits! He had “obvious malfeasance” but somehow literally zero evidence of it lmao. Seems like assuming people are guilty first is the American way now. If appearance of corruption is the standard to remove people from office, then we should remove everyone right now and start over from scratch. +public!
